The Nifty has managed to stay the course despite all the bad news this week and the bulls have been aiming for 24,500 on the upside. On the lower end, 24,000 will be a key level to watch. The July 17 high of 24,367 will be the first hurdle to cross for the bulls for a move back towards the 24,500 mark. On the downside, the bulls have defended 24,000 for two days in a row and would want that intact today as well, even the 24,200 mark.
IT stocks, which have been the backbone of this week’s upmove / resilience, could be tested today as software names sold-off overnight on Wall Street as chip stocks rallied. The Infosys ADR also fell over 5% overnight. For the Nifty Bank, the index still finds itself stuck in a range with supply emerging at the 57,500 mark.
Results continue unabated as multiple names react to results, while names like Maruti, ITC, Sun Pharma report today. The street will watch for the extreme earnings reactions, particularly in the broader markets.
