Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets are under pressure as it kick-starts an earnings-heavy week. The Nifty is trading with a loss over 140 points, falling below the 24,200 mark. The Nifty Bank is down 900 points, falling below the 58,000 mark. HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank and Axis Bank are the top laggards.

Not that the previous weeks were not, but considering the sharp upmoves seen on Friday, the test will be bigger. More so, because crude oil prices are back above the $90 a barrel mark. The Nifty closed above a key barrier of 24,300 on Friday, but the question is will it sustain this morning?
Asia reacts to the chip sell-off on Friday on Wall Street, which ones again puts Indian IT in the spotlight after the 4.5% gain last week. Today’s market move will also depend on how the Nifty 50 heavyweights, Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and Kotak Bank react to their quarterly results.
The next level on the upside for the Nifty is 24,500 and then the recent swing high of 24,530 and 24,601. On the downside, the bulls would fell comfortable as long as 24,000 is defended. The Nifty Bank also closed above the 58,500 mark and that will be the bigger index in focus today.
