Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: It is the second half of the day’s trade and markets are in the middle of a sell-off. The Nifty has declined and is now below the crucial 24,000 mark. The index is down over 170 points. The Nifty Bank is also a similar terrain with a dip of 400 points, moving around 57,500. Hindalco, Infosys and Tech Mahindra are top losers.
The markets are under immense pressure, with the Nifty falling over 150 points, pushing the index below 24,000. The Sensex is also on a similar footing, trading below 77,100, after a 400-point fall.
The Nifty bulls were hopeful of breaking out on the higher side and moving towards the 24,500 levels. With oil prices nearly back to pre-war levels, the one major headwind that bothered Indian equities has passed, at least for now.
For the Nifty, the 24,000 level remains the key and a crucial psychological support at the 23,900 – 23,800 zone.
The Nifty Bank is also trading with caution, with a negative bias.
The Nifty Bank briefly crossed 58,000 on Monday but could not hold on, even though it remains close to those levels.
