Stock Market Highlights: Indian benchmark indices ended sharply higher on June 12, supported by broad-based buying across sectors as investor sentiment improved on hopes of a potential peace agreement between the US and Iran. The Nifty closed above the 23,600 mark, while the Sensex rallied nearly 1,700 points.

Among Nifty stocks, Shriram Finance, L&T, InterGlobe Aviation, Bajaj Finance and HDFC Bank emerged as the top gainers of the session. On the flip side, Nestle India, ONGC, Tech Mahindra, Power Grid Corporation and SBI Life Insurance were among the key laggards.

Sectorally, all indices except IT ended in positive territory. Consumer durables, realty, telecom, banking, auto, media, oil & gas and metal stocks advanced between 1% and 2%, reflecting broad-based participation across the market.

The broader market significantly outperformed the benchmark indices, with the Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 climbing more than 2% each, underscoring strong investor appetite for mid- and small-cap stocks and signalling a robust risk-on sentiment.
