Beach hut with no water or electricity is on the market… for £200k

A beach hut in a holiday hotspot with no running water or electricity is on sale for £200,000 – around the same price as the average local house.

The coastal property is located in the Welsh village of Abersoch, a popular holiday hotspot which had the highest concentration of second homes in Wales at the last census. Basic beach huts in the area often commanding eye-watering prices.

Rebuilt in 2023, the hut comes with a private decking area and “stunning uninterrupted views across the bay”, according to estate agents Elvins. They added: “Beach huts like this don’t come around often.”

The new offering, which is listed for offers of more than £200,000, is one of just 17 huts on the side of the beach where boat launching and dogs are permitted all year round.

However, despite the hefty price tag, the hut comes with no running water or electricity supply.

The listing stated: “A perfect convenience for the coastal lifestyle Abersoch offers, the hut is detached and provides fantastic storage.”
