Jeremy Corbyn is selling his North London home for around £700,000 – nearly twice as much as he paid for it.
Mr Corbyn, the Your Party MP for Islington North, has lived in the three-bedroom terraced home in Finsbury Park since 2007, when he bought it for £363,000, Land Registry documents show.
The house was initially advertised in March by estate agent Kinleigh, Folkard & Hayward at an asking price of £800,000, but was reduced first to £780,000 in April, then £750,000 in May, after failing to sell.
The property is now under offer, The Telegraph understands, having eventually been advertised for offers over £700,000. The final price will not be made public until contracts have been exchanged.
In 2023, The Sun reported that Mr Corbyn had put his Islington house on the market for just under £1m, but the property did not sell.
The “charming and spacious” three-storey townhouse features a 26ft-long garden to its rear and is described as having “great links to the City and West End”.
Mr Corbyn, who was leader of the Labour Party between 2015 and 2020, once said that the property was located on his “dream street”, describing it as “very friendly and mixed”.
This year, Mr Corbyn would have paid £2,577 in council tax to Islington council for the Band E property.
