Gulf Islamic Investments (GII), a Dubai-based sharia-compliant investment company, has acquired a majority stake in London House Exchange, a UK fractional property investment platform.
The announcement followed approval from the Financial Conduct Authority, the UK regulator for financial services, LHX said in a statement.
Nasdaq-listed Better Home and Finance Holding, LHX’s previous sole shareholder, will retain a minority stake.
LHX has paused trading until October 5, citing a standard procedural step to allow clients to understand the ownership change.
The move is said to enable LHX to expand beyond the UK property market, while allowing GII to add sharia-compliant, income-generating products to its platform, including plans to introduce regulated tokenisation of real-world assets.
The acquisition is GII’s second investment in the UK financial sector, following its stake in Offa, a sharia-compliant home finance provider.
GII has $3.5 billion in assets under management across private equity, real estate, private credit and financial services.
