An entire Spanish village near a popular pilgrimage route is on sale for €850,000 (£729,000).
The village of San Sebastián, in Ourense province near the northern border with Portugal, is set within 40,000 sq m and consists of a large main house, 11 smaller residences and a chapel.
The village – which has no connection to the city of the same name in the Basque Country – was originally built to house the workers of a local power plant, but was put up for auction in 2010.
Daniel García, the seller, says his grandfather bought the village to have somewhere for his family to come together. The plan had been to renovate all the homes, but Mr García’s grandfather fell ill and died after renovating only three of them.
The properties have traditional terracotta roofs, wooden flooring and fireplaces, and there is a disused tennis court and small swimming pool on the land.
Photos of the village show wide, tree-lined avenues flanked by stucco and brick bungalows with gently rolling lawns and manicured hedges.
