Gas supply cut off at Bradford property after pipe damage


Northern Gas Networks attended an unoccupied property on Glenroyd Avenue in Low Moor at 2.34am on Tuesday in its capacity as the gas emergency service.

Engineers attended alongside police following reports of damaged internal gas pipework at the address.

Property made safe

A spokesperson for Northern Gas Networks said: “Northern Gas Networks attended an unoccupied property on Glenroyd Avenue, Bradford, at 2.34am on Tuesday 29 September in our capacity as the gas emergency service.

“Our engineers attended alongside the police following reports of damaged internal gas pipework.”

The company said its engineers carried out work to make the property safe, including isolating the gas supply at the meter.

The spokesperson added: “Our engineers carried out the necessary work to make the property safe, including isolating the gas supply at the meter.

“The situation has been made safe and our engineers have now left site.”

Northern Gas Networks is urging anybody who smells gas or suspects carbon monoxide to contact the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 immediately.
