A HOUSE was damaged after golf balls were fired at late at night.
The Pierson family, who live in Bridle Crescent, say they were awoken at approximately 11pm by the sounds of a swinging golf club.
One golf ball struck the property, damaging the window frame, while another was found in their garden.
Joe Pierson, 18, said: “I was chilling in my bedroom making plans for the following day when I started hearing golf balls being hit- it was the same noise I hear when someone hits the ball quite hard on the golf course.
“I kept hearing the balls being hit and hit and hit.
“This was going on for 15 minutes- after about the twelfth ball, I heard a thwack!
“Someone hit the house with a golf ball, so I rushed towards the window and shouted: Oi!

“It was dark, but I made out a man with what looked like a golf club in his hands – he dashed away quite quickly.”
The family called the police, but they did not attend the scene as the threat had passed.
Their home looks over the course at Iford Golf Centre, where it is thought the golf balls were fired from.
“We’ve never had anything like this before,” Joe added.
“The man was on his own – I think it was someone who had too much to drink doing random things.
“I was wired for about half an hour and quite vigilant – I shined a torch out the window to try spot him.”
Joe’s father, Mark Pierson, added: “I have spoken to neighbours, and we can’t work out which house he was aiming at.
“It’s a quite a shock for us all.”
The family has discussed security measures in the wake of the incident.
“We might get an air horn,” Joe said.
“If anything like this happens again, we can just blast it, but apart from that there’s not much we can do.”
Dorset Police said: “We received a report of criminal damage at a property in Bridle Crescent in Bournemouth.
“It was reported that damage had been caused to a window frame by a golf ball.
“The incident was reported to have occurred between 11pm and 11.15pm on Monday 27 April 2026.
“No arrests have been made.”
