Lancashire Constabulary were called to the property in Laurel Avenue at 1.30pm on Tuesday, September 22.
Emergency services attended and a man in his 60s was pronounced dead at the scene.
There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances, and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
A force spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.
“Whilst the man’s death is currently being treated as unexplained, there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances, and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
“Whilst in attendance at the property, a small number of suspected cannabis plants were found. The relevant proceedings to remove these plants are ongoing.
“The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be passed to the coroner in due course. It would be for HM Coroner to determine the cause of death.
“Following the report of the death, our officers responded accordingly and will continue to do so. There is no suggestion that there is any risk to the wider public.”
