Meghan Markle ‘plans home filming studio’ as Sussexes hunt for multi-million pound UK property
Meghan Markle is looking to add a home film studio to the Sussexes’ new Cotswolds property, new reports have claimed.
Prince Harry touched down at Birmingham Airport alongside his wife and two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, earlier this week, ahead of what has been described as an “extended” stay in the UK.
While Harry is said to be prepared to take on a more “full-time Dad” role, Meghan is expected to adopt a “come and go” approach, as she manages her business endeavours across the Atlantic.
Nevertheless, the pair are said to be house-hunting to the tune of at least £8million in the Cotswolds – near the area where their children are said to have been enrolled in a prep school.
But their demands for houses are, according to the Daily Mail, substantial.
Harry is said to be looking for vast amounts of land without public footpaths, to protect their privacy and avoid the issues that Pippa Middleton and husband James Matthews are currently encountering.
Meghan, however, is looking for nine bedrooms and a home filming studio, according to the outlet.
A source said that the Duchess of Sussex will end up making “home making content” while in the UK because “that is the heart of who she is”.
The couple are said to be “all in” on the British dream, though any filming that Meghan may commit to doing in the UK will be for her ventures in the US, sources suggest.
In the meantime, however, the family are understood to be living “indefinitely” in a spare house of an extremely wealthy friend in the Cotswolds.
Northamptonshire, where the Spencers live on the Althorp Estate, Birmingham, which will host the 2027 Invictus Games, and Windsor had all been suggested as potential options for the Sussexes.

But the Cotswolds could be an idyllic country bolthole for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and it may be an area where they are closely surrounded by royals.
Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate in Minchinhampton could be nearby, while the Princess Royal’s children, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, live on the same estate.
Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, own a six-bedroom farmhouse valued at £3.5million, also in the Cotswolds.

And, of course, the King’s Highgrove Estate – where the monarch was reunited with his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet after four long years – is also located within the Cotswolds.
Given that the Sussexes could be looking to fork out millions of pounds on a new country home, it has been suggested that Harry could be looking to stay in the country far longer than previously expected.
“The way he sees it is that he will be here for the next 12 to 15 years, minimum,” a source said.
