The organisation announced a new £57.9 million multidisciplinary capital projects framework in May. However, the procurement was abandoned without making an award.
The Crown Estate has now announced it will issue a revised call for applications later this month.
The move follows an an internal review, which found areas where the procurement approach could be altered to better align to The Crown Estate’s wider strategic objectives and business priorities.
As a result, the new framework’s indicative value will increase from £57.9 million to £71 million to reflect a greater potential scale and breadth needed to meet The Crown Estate’s revised requirements.
It is understood that the broader scope of the framework is intended to encourage wider supplier participation, promote more effective competition and deliver improved value for money across key business areas.
Teams selected for the four-year agreement will have the opportunity to work on a range of capital projects with the statutory corporation which manages UK property belonging to the monarchy and generates revenue for His Majesty’s Treasury.
Founded in 1760, The Crown Estate manages more than £15 billion-worth of UK assets belonging to the monarchy including large swathes of commercial, residential, agricultural and coastal property.
The framework comes a year after Archio, Mole and Tate + Co were appointed to deliver 140 homes for The Crown Estate’s ‘housing transformation’ project.
Last year The Crown Estate snapped up a 50 per cent stake in Lendlease’s six ‘city-shaping’ UK projects, including the redevelopment above a new HS2 terminal at Euston Station.
