Torquay-based Armada Property UK raised the money at its fifth annual charity golf day for Rowcroft Hospice, which supports people with life-limiting illnesses across South Devon.
The event at Teignmouth Golf Club brought together 21 teams of four for an 18-hole round. Construction contacts, partners, sponsors and members of the local business community took part, with putting competitions, a mystery prize on the seventh hole, and nearest-the-pin and longest-drive challenges.
A raffle and live auction followed, with prizes including golfing breaks abroad, a four-night stay at Cofton Holiday Park, two Liverpool FC match-day tickets with Red Lounge access and a year’s family membership to the Eden Project. An online auction also allowed people who did not play golf to support the fundraiser.
Armada has supported Rowcroft through golf days and other fundraising since 2022, raising more than £39,400 in that time.
Ben Coggins, director at Armada Property UK, said: “Our charity golf day is a great chance to bring our contacts together, but most importantly it lets us raise vital funds for Rowcroft Hospice. Reaching more than £39,000 in five years is something we’re really proud of, and it’s only possible because of the generosity of everyone who takes part, donates prizes, sponsors a hole or bids in the auctions. Rowcroft does incredibly important work across South Devon, and we’re delighted to support it.”
Rowcroft provides care for adults with life-limiting illnesses, supporting patients and their families at home, in the community and at its hospice in Torquay. The charity relies on fundraising support as demand for its services continues to grow.
Alison Upton, philanthropy manager at Rowcroft Hospice, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Armada Property UK and everyone who supported the golf day. Fundraising events like this make a real difference, helping Rowcroft provide compassionate care and support to local people and their families when they need it most. Thank you to everyone involved, and to Armada for their continued support of our work.”
