FLORINA, Greece. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the facilities of the Florina Industrial Area on Friday morning as part of his tour of northern Greece.
The prime minister referred to the challenges the region has faced, placing emphasis on new investments and the jobs being created.
“Western Macedonia has gone through its own trials,” Kyriakos Mitsotakis said, adding that “through systematic government support, many new productive investments are being launched, creating well-paying jobs.”
Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos emphasized the link between investment and keeping young people in border regions following his visit with the prime minister to the facilities of Tottis Pack in the Florina Industrial Area.
Theodorikakos noted that the company has been included in the Special Support program for border regions established by the Ministry of Development, aimed at supporting productive investments near the country’s borders and creating new jobs.
“We are supporting productive investments here near the borders, in the country’s border regions, providing hundreds of jobs for young people,” he said, adding that this gives them “a greater opportunity to stay here, work here and start their families.”
In closing, he pledged continued support for the company. “You have the full support of the Ministry, and I think the prime minister’s presence here today demonstrates that above all.”
A short time later, the prime minister visited the Xino Nero mineral water plant in the Municipality of Amyntaio, where he spoke with employees and company management.
