Strategy’s (NASDAQ:MSTR) goal is to create a product that allows people to earn above the inflation rate with their bank accounts, Chair Michael Saylor says.
“Fix money, fix the world,” Saylor on the “Bankless” podcast released Monday. “We have a chance, in my opinion, to fix the money for a billion people.”
Saylor said Strategy intends to unlock bank accounts that pay 8% in annual interest with its Bitcoin-backed preferred stock offering, which pays up to 11.5% in annual dividends. The 8% rate will offset “the natural currency debasement rate,” which he said is 7%.

Saylor said Strategy can create the product by offering its Strategy Variable Rate Perpetual Stretch Preferred Shares Series A (NASDAQ:STRC) to big banks, who can pocket about 2% and pass the remainder of its up to 11.5% annual dividend on to customers.
The goal comes as Saylor believes Bitcoin will eventually reach $21 million each, which he reiterated on the podcast. The target implies an over 28,000% upside for the asset, which was most recently trading near $74,000.
Bitcoin will need to become legitimized globally and widely accepted by banks as collateral to reach the target, Saylor said. He said the lower Bitcoin’s volatility, the higher the chances of this adoption.

Meanwhile, Strategy continues to accumulate Bitcoin. The Bitcoin treasury company on Monday announced the purchase of 13,927 BTC for approximately $1 billion, bringing its holdings to nearly 781,000 BTC, worth about $58 billion.
As ideas like Bitcoin-backed income products and yield-generating digital assets gain traction, they also highlight a broader shift: crypto is increasingly being positioned not just as a speculative asset, but as part of a wider financial toolkit.
For individual investors, that shift is raising new questions around how to access Bitcoin and crypto-related opportunities alongside traditional investments. Platforms like Public offer one way to explore that exposure, allowing users to invest in cryptocurrencies, crypto-linked stocks, and ETFs within a single account as the space continues to evolve.
