Waterways Leisure Tourism Ltd (operator of India’s domestic ocean cruise business under the Cordelia Cruises brand) is implementing a 1:10 stock split, with August 25, 2026, as the last day to buy shares to be eligible. The record date is August 26, 2026, after which one fully paid-up equity share of face value ₹10 will be split into 10 shares of face value ₹1 each. The split itself does not change the overall value of an investor’s holding, as the share price adjusts proportionately.

NSE, BSE to remain open for trading on August 26 despite Eid-e-Milad; settlement holiday in place, currency markets closed.

NSE and BSE will not shut for trading on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, for Eid-e-Milad; the equity markets remain open for normal trading, but it is a settlement holiday, meaning clearing, settlement, pay-in, and pay-out of funds and securities will not take place that day (currency markets will be closed, while MCX stays open).

Intraday profits made in the equity segment on August 25 will not be reflected in the account balance on August 26. Shares purchased on August 25 and August 26 can be sold on August 27.

🖋️ We expect Nifty to trade in the range of 23,800 and 24,800. The formation of a “base ascending triangle” had reignited hopes of a breakout only to fizzle out as the August expiry ensued. The prices should move towards the higher end of the range now. In the absence of strong triggers, breakout still appears difficult.

🖋️The deluge of paper supply that has kept a lid on secondary market (~ $6.5bn worth of IPOs+QIPs+OFSs+Sell downs) will continue to influence the price action in the new series. By the virtue of offerings, FPIs have turned net buyers in India in secondary markets (~+$1.5bn) in August.

🖋️ Key events: Indian markets will closely track Jackson Hole, crude price trajectory, India’s GDP data and US inflation for cues.

🖋️ Key observations from expiry week:

-FPI net short in index futures stands at ~$3.14bn (down from ~$3.45bn last expiry) while HNI/Retail longs in SSF continue to remain higher at ~$21.8bn. Single stock futures for the third straight month in a row traded at ~6.3% annualised. Roll costs started at 64-65 bps (~6.7% p.a.) and later kept drifting. While Nifty roll costs remained subdued ~4.95% annualised (~47 bps), the average Nifty September futures premium to spot levels was ~165 points throughout expiry week which is 68 bps (7.1% annualised adjusted for dividend impact).
