CBRE has strengthened its UK debt and structured finance (D&SF) team with the appointment of George Peake and Joshua Mailling as directors, alongside the promotion of Stephen Barr to head of UK debt and structured finance.

Peake and Mailling will advise on financing strategies across a range of real estate sectors.
Peake joins from Barclays, where he spent nearly six years advising clients on real estate finance transactions and capital solutions. Mailling joins from OakNorth, where he spent almost seven years in the bank’s debt finance team.
CBRE said Barr’s promotion recognises his contribution as part of the UK D&SF leadership group since joining the firm in 2020. During that period, he has advised on acquisition, refinancing and restructuring mandates across all sectors, working with family offices, institutional investors and private equity clients.
Chris Gow, head of D&SF for Europe at CBRE, said: “The debt market continues to evolve rapidly, creating both challenges and opportunities for our clients. George and Joshua bring strong lending and capital markets experience, while Stephen’s promotion reflects his contribution to the growth of our business over many years.
“Together, they further strengthen our ability to provide best-in-class advice and financing solutions to clients across the region.”
The appointments follow CBRE’s investment in its D&SF platform and the recent recruitment of David Lawlor as head of equity, D&SF for Ireland, as part of the firm’s plans to expand its European capital advisory capabilities.
