A chartered surveyor has joined a leading Cumbrian property firm as associate director.
H&H Land and Estates has appointed Sam Barton to its South Lakes team, where he will work with clients across Cumbria, Lancashire, and neighbouring areas.
Mr Barton, who holds a degree in real estate from Northumbria University, is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) with experience in estate management, valuations, rural consultancy, and commercial property.
He began his career in commercial property in the North East before moving into the rural sector, most recently working for a local agent in the Eden Valley advising landowners on estate management and rural property matters.
Originally from Troutbeck, near Windermere, Mr Barton now lives in the Eden Valley with his family.
He said: “Joining H&H Land and Estates feels like I’ve come full circle.
“Growing up in Troutbeck and now returning to work in the South Lakes makes this a particularly exciting opportunity.
“H&H Land and Estates has an excellent reputation and I’m looking forward to becoming part of the team, getting to know our clients and helping them achieve their objectives.
“I also hope to build on the company’s commercial property services while supporting its long-established rural work.”
Mr Barton will be based at H&H Land and Estates’ Staveley office and will cover a broad range of rural property matters including valuations, property sales and acquisitions, landlord and tenant matters, estate management, and professional consultancy.
He will also support the company’s commercial property services alongside its core rural focus.
H&H Land and Estates operates across Cumbria, the North East, and the Scottish Borders, advising farmers, landowners, estates, and rural businesses on property and environmental matters.
Mark Barrow, director at H&H Land and Estates, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sam to the team.
“His experience, local knowledge, and understanding of both the rural and commercial property sectors make him an excellent addition to the business.
“With agriculture and the wider rural economy continuing to evolve and diversify, it has never been more important for farmers, landowners, and rural businesses to have access to experienced professionals who understand the changing landscape.
“Sam’s appointment reinforces our commitment to providing clients with the knowledge, experience, and personal service they value.”
The company offers services in estate management, farm and land sales, valuations, planning and development, utilities and infrastructure, environmental projects, forestry, and commercial property.
