Gatha provides feeds based on each member’s role and location rather than follower numbers.
Former estate agents Chris Tremlett (pictured, left) and David Tremlett (pictured, right) have launched Gatha, a free social media app for people working in UK property and construction.
Gatha provides feeds based on each member’s role and location rather than follower numbers.
The app also includes a jobs board connecting tradespeople and developers without recruiters, as well as a projects board listing sites and developments for sale or seeking investment.
Projects can be filtered by strategy, including houses in multiple occupation, buy-to-let and student accommodation.
Brokers and lenders can filter members by role and area, while projects seeking investment show where funding is required.
Chris Tremlett, co-founder of Gatha, said: “David and I were estate agents. We know what it is to post about a property, a deal or a job and watch it disappear because you didn’t pay to boost it. LinkedIn and Facebook were never built for us.
“They were built to sell our attention to advertisers, and property has been paying for the privilege for years.
“This industry builds the country. It should not have to beg an algorithm to be heard.
“So we are asking everyone in property to do one thing: come and claim your place on a platform that belongs to you. It’s free, and it’s open today.”
