Man found injured at Wolverhampton property sparking arrest


Police arrested a man in his 40s after another man suffered injuries at a property in the West Midlands.

West Midlands Police (WMP) said the man’s injuries occurred following an incident on Talbot Road, in the Blakenhall area of Wolverhampton, on Tuesday morning, May 19.

A suspect was then spotted by police patrols.

He tried to flee from officers but was soon detained in Manor Road, in nearby Ettingshall, and a knife was recovered.

The suspect, a man in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of wounding and possessing an offensive weapon.

He remained in custody yesterday on Wednesday, May 21, as enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for WMP said: “Guardian officers also made a further arrest in response to an incident in Wolverhampton yesterday morning, in which a man suffered injuries, which are not believed to be life-changing, at a property in Talbot Road.

“During patrols, they spotted a suspect who attempted to make off from them, but he was soon detained in Manor Road, Ettingshall and on carrying out a search a knife was also recovered.

“The man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of wounding and possessing an offensive weapon.

“He remains in custody as enquiries continue.”

The spokesperson added: “We take knife crime and carrying a weapon seriously.
