Man arrested after car crashes into property in Porth


Emergency services were called to the scene and a main road was shut for almost four hours

A man has been arrested after a car crashed into a property in a Welsh village. Police were called to Ynyshir Road near Porth in Rhondda Cynon Taf on Saturday afternoon.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the collision, which closed Ynyshir Road for almost four hours as emergency services attended the scene. For the latest Rhondda news, sign up to our newsletter here.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: “We were called at 4.15pm on Saturday, September 19, following a report of a car colliding with a property on Ynyshir Road, Ynyshir, Porth.

“A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking and driving while unfit through drink. He has since been released under investigation.”
